Road Closures and Parking Restrictions for Caps’ Victory Parade

Thousands of fans will line the streets of the nation's capital on Tuesday to celebrate D.C.'s own Stanley Cup Champions: The Washington Capitals.

A victory parade will run down Constitution Avenue from 23rd to 7th streets NW, with optimal viewing between 17th and 7th. The parade will then turn right and end with an ALLCAPS rally at 7th and the National Mall, Monumental Sports, the group that owns the team, announced Friday.

Like with any major event in D.C., there will be a lot of road closures and parking restrictions that could affect your commute whether you're going to the parade or just trying to get around.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's office released the following information Friday night for what to expect.

Street Closures:

The following streets will be closed from 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12 through 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12:

Inbound 14th Street Bridge Main Line - all traffic will be directed toward Eastbound I-395
Inbound 14th Street Bridge HOV - all traffic will be directed toward Eastbound I-395
Northbound 12th Street Tunnel - all traffic will be directed toward Eastbound I-395
Eastbound Theodore Roosevelt Bridge - all traffic will be directed toward E Street Expressway/Potomac River Freeway
Southbound 9th Street Tunnel

7th Street will be Emergency No Parking from 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11 through 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12 from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
7th Street will be closed from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW during the same time.

All other Emergency No Parking times will be in effect from 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11 through 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, including:
