And they're off! Dozens of dachshunds raced in the seventh annual Wiener 500 in D.C.'s Yards Park on Saturday. The winner was a 2-year-old dachshund named Tony, who was rescued from a hoarding situation in Houston, his owner, Kevin Schreck, said.
"Tony is just a dog that loves to run. We're very proud of him," Schreck said in an email.
Tony trained for the races by chasing his 10-year-old brother, Charlie. Check out these sweet photos from the races, which raised $3,640 for the Humane Rescue Alliance.
