New VR Experience Brings Arcade Games to Life at Union Station

The location will be the first in the U.S. with a licensed Mario Kart VR game.

A new virtual reality experience at Union Station will put you into the driver's seat of some classic arcade games.

VR Zone Portal US will open its first U.S. location at Union Station on Oct. 1. The VR experience previously launched in Japan and the UK.

One of the most anticipated games is Mario Kart VR. Players can race as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach or Yoshi. A tracking technology will also allow players to reach out and grab items like banana peels to throw at their opponents.

Other games in the VR experience include Argle Shift and Ski Rodeo.

Each game is $8, but you may have to wait in line for your chance to play. In a post on Twitter, VR Zone Portal US says games will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

VR Zone Portal US says the experience will be in D.C. for six months before moving to another city.
