National Children's Museum Cyclefest Is Saturday

The fourth annual National Children’s Museum CycleFest 2013 is coming up Saturday, June 22.

Bring your bikes (or tricycles) to American Way between Fleet Street and St. George Boulevard at National Harbor for a free block party-esque event, culminating in a ride to the National Harbor via the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Trail.

Storm Team 4x4 and News4 Storm Team meteorologist Veronica Johnson will lead a weather exploration workshop.

Other CycleFest activities include a bicycle rodeo, safety gear sizings and giveaways, bike maintenance workshops, helmet and bicycle decorating, and live entertainment from The Lab DC.

Refreshments and raffle items will be provided by the Alexander Lance Booker Child Safety Foundation.

Children who emerge victorious from the bicycle rodeo will receive a coupon for $2 off admission to the Children’s Museum between noon and 4 p.m.

Exhibitors at Cyclefest include the Washington Nationals, Kids.gov, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Rita’s Water Ice, Ben & Jerry’s, and Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

The event runs from noon until 4 p.m.
