Local Plant Shop Opens Pop-Up in US Botanic Garden

Local favorite plant shop Little Leaf is hosting a pop-up shop in the U.S. Botanic Garden over the weekend.

From Thursday through Sunday, visitors of the gardens can celebrate the peak of cherry blossom season with a purchase of “plant-centric gifts, including botanical art prints by local artist Printed Wild, books, seed kits, soy candles and more,” said Amanda McClements, Little Leaf and Salt & Sundry owner.

Months ago, the Friends of the U.S. Botanic Garden, a nonprofit that supports the nearly 200 annual public educational programs at the garden, reached out to Little Leaf about partnering to create a gift shop for the garden, according to McClements.

As the garden has never had a gift shop before, Little Leaf was “eager to help out,” said McClements.

“The botanic garden is my absolute favorite place to take visitors in the city, and we're so thrilled to support their mission of sharing the importance of plants,” McClements said.

The store’s owner also says there is a chance of a more long-term shop in the garden in the future.

The pop-up shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until close.
