Beyoncé, Jay-Z Concert Could Cause Traffic Delays This Weekend

Traffic officials are anticipating some significant delays as Beyoncé and Jay-Z bring their "On The Run II" concert to FedEx Field this weekend.

The celebrity couple will be performing at the home of the Washington Redskins Friday and Saturday night. Both performances start at 7:30 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Heavier traffic than usual is expected on the Capital Beltway, MD-214 and MD-202, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) says.

Police and MDOT SHA will be on hand to help with traffic. Major nighttime roadwork will also be suspended each night to help ease congestion.

Fans attending the concert are encouraged to carpool or use public transportation to get to the venue. The closest Metro station to FedEx Field is Morgan Boulevard, which services the Blue and Silver lines. FedEx Field is located one mile from the station.

Those using ride-share services to get to the concert will be picked up and dropped off at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex, which is a short walk from Gate D.
