Get Your Free Caffeine Fix on National Coffee Day

There's nothing like a hot cup of coffee to warm you up on a dreary, rainy day. Luckily, Thursday is National Coffee Day, and you won't have to go far to celebrate. 

Several coffee shops and chains across the country are offering free cups of joe or special promotions to celebrate National Coffee Day.

Here’s where you can get your fix:

Dunkin' Donuts: To celebrate its 66th birthday, the chain is offering a medium hot coffee for 66 cents. 

Krispy Kreme: If you need a sweet fix with your cup of java, stop by Krispy Kreme. Customers will get an a FREE coffee AND an original glazed doughnut.  

Starbucks: The chain isn't offering any deals, but it will donate one coffee tree every time a cup of its Mexico Chiapas coffee is sold.

But if you head to the Starbucks at National Harbor, you can get a free ride on the Capital Wheel with your cup of coffee. 

Wawa: Celebrate National Coffee Day with a free cup of coffee at all Wawa locations. 

Peet's Coffee & Tea: You can grab a free cup of coffee with any food purchase at Peet's Coffee Thursday. 

Caribou Coffee: For every cup of coffee sold Thursday, Caribou Coffee wil donate a cup to nurses and family members in cancer centers across the country. 

McDonald's: Free small hot or iced McCafe coffee if you download the app.

Credible research suggests three to five cups of coffee per day can reduce one’s risk of heart disease, stroke and Parkinson’s disease, according to nutritionist Dr. Joy Dubost. She spoke with News4’s Barbara Harrison on National Coffee Day.
