Feel Like James Bond at Artini 2014

If you like your cocktails stirred, not shaken, then you should mark your calendar for March 22.

The Corcoran Gallery of Art (500 17th St. NW) is gearing up to host the 1869 Society's Artini 2014, an annual celebration of art and martinis that would make Mr. Bond proud.

D.C.'s top mixologists have been working tirelessly since February to create the most artistic martini in the district, inspired by works in the Corcoran's collection.

On March 22 at 8:30 p.m., they will come together to compete for the honor of having created the city's favorite martini, as chosen by an online vote.

The evening will include an opportunity to taste all 10 featured martinis, view the art on display at the Corcoran, and enjoy an evening of dancing and mingling with fellow cocktail enthusiasts and art lovers.

Tickets to the gala are available at the Corcoran's website. 1869 Society members can buy tickets for $125; general admission is $135.

A VIP package is available for either $175 (for 1869 Society members) and $200 (for everyone else) that includes an extra hour before the gala to taste test with the judges, specialty foods and drinks and a swab bag at the end of the evening.
