The work of renowned African-American artists will be auctioned off at Quinn’s Auction Galleries in Falls Church, Virginia. On Feb. 18, you can choose from nearly 100 paintings created in the mid-1960s. Many of the paintings are influenced by the Civil Rights era. One of the notable artists whose work will be featured is Merton Simpson, the first African American to receive a five-year fellowship from the Charleston Scientific and Cultural Education fund. Here are some of his famous pieces that will be available at the event.
