    Deals and Local Breweries to Celebrate National Beer Lover's Day

    National Beer Lover’s Day and Thirsty Thursday are both on Sept. 7 and brew the perfect conditions to sip hoppy IPAs or sweet saisons. We’ve rounded up the best deals in the city for you to celebrate -- and found five local breweries to help you celebrate the holiday and your hometown drinking locally made beers. Prost!

    Deals

    Rebellion DC

    1836 18th Street NW, Washington, D.C.

    From 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., chomp on Rebellion DC’s collection of burgers while celebrating National Beer Lover’s Day with $3 off all of the restaurant’s local craft selections.

    The Brig

    1007 8th Street SE, Washington, D.C.

    The Brig has a stew of brews, from taps at their bar to bottled beers to ciders. During the beer garden’s happy hour, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., specials include $5 pints and $10 liters of select craft and German brews

    Satellite Room

    2047 9th Street NW, Washington, D.C.

    Enjoy $4 rails and drafts during Satellite Room’s happy hour, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.. On Thursdays, the restaurant offers half-priced wings at 8 p.m. Choose from flavors like parmesan and garlic and ‘duper hot,’ which features a crimson ghost sauce.

    Continental

    1911 North Fort Myer Drive, Arlington, Virginia 22209

    Happy hour runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at this "modern pool lounge" that lets you have the trifecta of beer, games and food. The brew selection includes many local beers and some hard-to-find ales.

    Republic

    6939 Laurel Avenue, Takoma Park, Maryland 20912

    If you like late-running happy hours and snacks with your beer, Republic may be your perfect bar. And of course they have a robust list of local beers on tap, including Ellicott City’s Manor Hillsner, Baltimore’s 3 Lions Ale and D.C.’s Days Gone By. The two happy hours feature $1 local oysters and run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. until close.

    Brookland Pint

    716 Monroe Street NE, Washington, D.C.

    For Brookland Pint’s late night happy hour, which runs Monday to Thursday from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., choose from two specials: nachos and a beer for $10 or a burger and a beer for $15. The beer selections includes local drafts.

    Atlas Brew Works 

    2052 West Virginia Avenue NE, DC 20002

    From their District Common brew to their collaborative brew with Hank’s Oyster Bar, Atlas Brew Works lets you drink D.C. pride. You can sip beers in their taproom until 10 p.m. on National Beer Lover's Day. Or, you can pick up one of their beers in one of hundreds of restaurants, bars and stores that stock Atlas’ D.C.-brewed beers.

    3 Stars Brewing Company 

    6400 Chillum Place NW, Washington, DC 20012

    Dave Coleman and Mike McGarvey started out as homebrewers, then grew their hobby into a full-fledged business. Today, you can grab a Two To The Dome IPA, Nectar of the Bogs or many other beers until 9 p.m. in their tasting room.

    DC Brau Brewing Company 

    3178-B Bladensburg Road NE, Washington, DC, 20018

    DC Brau’s tasting room is closed for National Beer Lover’s Day -- but you can still find it’s iconic beers The Citizen, The Public and The Corruption in stores and bars across D.C. If you find the Capitol dome emblazoned on the can, it’s probably DC Brau.

    Heritage Brewing 

    9436 Center Point Lane, Manassas, VA 20110

    This veteran owned and operated brewery uses 92 percent locally or organically sourced ingredients to make patriotic beers like American Expedition wheat ale, The Teddy pale ale and Freedom Isn’t Free IPA. Their taproom will be open until 9 p.m. Thursday for your celebration needs.

    Denizen’s Brewing Company 

    1115 East-West Highway, Silver Spring, MD 20910

    Denizen says that two years ago, Montgomery County laws would have never allowed a brewery of this kind. But the two-level taproom and dog-friendly beer garden paired with a pilsner promises a great National Beer Lover’s Day. If you drink between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., you can get happy hour deals.
