DC Salon Will Host Salon-A-Thon to Benefit Orlando Victims

All funds raised at the hair-cutting marathon will be donated to the Pulse Victims Fund

Bang Salon wants you to "look good while doing good" at their sixth annual charity Salon-A-Thon, which will benefit the families of the June 12 massacre in Orlando.

All four Bang Salon locations in D.C. will host hairstyling marathons from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 17 in honor of the 49 people who lost their lives in the nightclub attack. All proceeds will be donated to the Pulse Victims Fund of Orlando.

"Our hearts go out to the victims and families of the horrific shooting in Orlando, so this year's fundraiser is in efforts to support them," said Nikki Esoldo, co-owner of Bang Salon. "For more than eight hours, Bang stylists will donate their time, energy and hair-cutting talents for such an important cause."

All of the salon's usual services, including cuts, colors, blowouts and more, will be available during the charity event. The daylong event will also include free champagne, mimosas and appetizers.

Equality Florida, an LGBT civil rights advocacy group, launched the Pulse Victims Fund on GoFundMe in the wake of the tragedy. It has raised almost $6 million dollars since the attack less than two weeks ago.

"We stand with the entire LGBT community in the wake of this tragedy," Esoldo said.
