Coast Guard Marks Aviation Centennial With DC Flyover

The Coast Guard celebrated its aviation centennial by flying an assortment of aircraft over the nation's capital.

The flyover began at noon Friday. It included nine aircraft from the current fleet, including some painted to resemble historical aircraft.

The route included airspace over Nationals Park, the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.

Other good spots for viewing the show included the Morgan Boulevard Metro Station, Anacostia Park and the 11th Street Bridge, the Coast Guard said.
