The Capitol Christmas Tree's 4,000 mile trek to Washington, D.C. is over.
The tree arrived in the nation's capital Friday morning.
The 74-foot spruce came all the way from the Chugach National Forest in Alaska, and will be decorated with thousands of ornaments created by children from the state.
The tree is the first Capitol Christmas Tree to come from Alaska.
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan will light the tree on the Capitol's West Front Lawn during a ceremony set for 5 p.m. on Dec. 2.
After that, the Capitol Christmas Tree will be lit from dusk until 11 p.m. every day through Jan. 1.
