Wednesday's the first day of spring -- a.k.a., the beginning of D.C.-being-infiltrated-by-tourists season.
So it's fitting that the National Cherry Blossom Festival's signature Pink Tie Party fundraiser is set for the same date.
Hosted by celebrity chef Lorena Garcia, this cheerful bash at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel (999 9th St. NW) celebrates the blossoms' 101st year in D.C.
From 7 to 11 p.m., guests garbed in the Pink Tie Party's theme (pink ties and other pink attire) gallivant between food and drink stations while bidding on silent auction items.
More than 30 restaurants and chefs throughout the area will be serving up cherry, blossom, spring and festival-inspired dishes during the party, including (but not limited to):

Admission is $200 per person. Tickets are available online here. All proceeds benefit the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
