Tidbits: Kate Gosselin dropped from new TV show

A talk show set to showcase Kate Gosselin’s gift for gab won’t feature the newly divorced reality TV mom after all. According to Radar Online, execs behind “Momlogic TV” decided Gosselin is simply too controversial for a co-host spot.

In September, Gosselin, along with author Lee Woodruff, host Rene Syler and Food Network’s Paula Deen, filmed a pilot episode of a talk show with a very “View”-like group dynamic.

Sources on-set were said to be pleased with Gosselin’s performance at the time of taping but have since had a change of heart.

Well, at least some have. An insider revealed the decision to cut the “too controversial” former “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star was hardly a unanimous one.

“There was a lot of arguing,” the source said.

But in the end, if the show goes ever makes it past the pilot stage, it will do so without Gosselin.

Cruise promises to play a convincing Santa for Suri
After receiving less than rave reviews for his past Christmas morning performances, Tom Cruise has promised to play a more convincing Santa Claus this year.

It seems Cruise’s previous attempts to pass himself off as old St. Nick earned little more than a stern “No, dada” from his toughest critic, daughter Suri. This time, however, the actor hopes for high marks from the 3-year-old.

“Tom freely admits he needs to put more effort into his annual role as Santa,” a Cruise pal told Pop Eater, adding that the ever-confident star now boasts that his upcoming routine “could even fool Rudolph!"

Rep denies Jennifer Hudson pregnancy rumor
Despite a recent Star magazine “exclusive”, new mom Jennifer Hudson is not in “total shock” after learning she’s pregnant again, because as it turns out, it’s just not true.

“Contrary to what has been falsely reported, Jennifer Hudson is not pregnant,” Hudson’s rep, Lisa Kasteler, explained in a statement released to Gossip Cop.

Not only is the “American Idol” alum not pregnant now, according to Kasteler, Hudson has absolutely no plans to give her 4-month-old son, David, a brother or sister any time soon.

“Jennifer is currently in the studio recording her second album and this is the only delivery she is looking forward to in 2010,” the rep wrote.

Dish on the fly
Overnight sensation-turned-chart-topper Susan Boyle found a playful way to deal with the pesky paparazzi she now finds following her. Photos of the singer featured in Britain’s Daily Mail show her lobbing well-packed snowballs at the shutterbugs waiting outside her home in Scotland. … When notorious former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson dined at West Hollywood hotspot Koi, he wasn’t looking for a quiet corner to himself. “The place was crowded, but the hostess found a table near the back, and Tyson immediately complained, ‘No…this is no good. I don’t like this table!’” an onlooker revealed to the National Enquirer. When offered another somewhat secluded spot, Tyson was said to respond, “Look, I DON’T want to sit in the back of the room — I want a table right in the middle so everyone can see me.” Eventually Tyson pointed at a previously reserved table and reportedly, after just one round of “Give me that table,” a manager, who wasn’t looking for any trouble, agreed to do just that.
