Lollapalooza to Live Stream on YouTube

YouTube is expected to announce Friday plans to live stream Lolla and Austin City Limits

Did you snag tickets to this year's sold-out Lollapalooza?

You might not need them to see your favorite acts Aug. 5-7 in Grant Park.

YouTube is expected to announce Friday plans to live stream Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. The Chicago music festival will be promoted with a "Lollapalooza Week" on YouTube, and festival streaming will include live coverage of bands.

It's not yet known which sets will be streamed, as more than 130 bands are scheduled to perform on eight stages throughout the weekend.

Headliners include Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay and Muse. Changes this year include a newly-expanded dance music area.

"For those of us who can't make it — we have YouTube," said Lolla founder Perry Farrell in a statement to the Associated Press. "Be a voyeur to this year's Lollapalooza. Watch as musicians offer their souls and the crowd devours them. You just may forget that you aren't really there."
