Jacko Glove Fetched $49G Down Under

Buyer Hard Rock will display it with Elvis, Vicious memorabilia

At this price, you ought to get a pair, but the glove Michael Jackson wore win he married Debbie Rowe has sold for a whopping $49,000.

The white, crystal-encrusted glove was auctioned off by Bonhams and Goodman, and the winning bidder was one Warwick Stone, who bought it on behalf of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The auction hammer came down in Melbourne late Sunday.

The right-hand glove, made of spandex and hand-sewn crystals, was worn by Jackson to the Sydney premiere of his film "Ghosts," back on Nov. 15, 1996.  The King of Pop was in Australia for his HIStory world tour, and earlier in the day had married Rowe. A man named Bill Hibble was in the audience at the premiere, and Jackson tossed him the glove. The recipient later died, and it was his father who put the glove up for sale.

The glove, which went for double the expected price, will be displayed alongside memorabilia from Elvis Presley and Sex Pistols guitarist Sid Vicious, said Stone, the Hard Rock's curator.
