Diggy Squashes Engagement Rumors

The up-and-coming hip-hop superstar stopped by the Russ Parr Morning Show

Daniel “Diggy” Simmons stopped by the Russ Parr Morning Show on 93.9 WKYS-FM to set the record straight -- he is not engaged.

The Queens, N.Y., native said since his career began, being engaged was absolutely the craziest rumor he’s heard so far.

"When I heard the rumor, it scared me," he told the morning show audience.  "Engaged? What? Even when I'm talking about it now, it scares me a little bit."

Diggy met some fans and listeners on the morning show and took pictures with them. Diggy also discussed his album and what he thinks about the Trayvon Martin case.

Son of “Reverend Run” Simmons and nephew of Russell Simmons, Diggy says he is focused, single and doing his own thing for now.

The 17-year-old hip-hop prince released his first mixed tape in 2009 and became an instant success. Since then, he’s collaborated with stars like Pharrell Williams and Bruno Mars.

But music isn’t the only thing Diggy’s been dominating. Simmons launched a line of urban clothing called Chivalrous Culture in 2010. His line carries everything from sneakers, jeans, shirts and hats for ladies and men.
