Sandra Bullock To Star in First Post-Divorce Film

After a topsy-turvy year that saw her nab an Oscar and a split from her husband, Sandra Bullock will be appearing on the silver screen once again.

As reported by UsMagazine.com, Warner Bros. confirmed that the actress will appear in the new sci-fi movie "Gravity," which co-stars George Clooney. It will be Bullock’s first film role since "The Blind Side" from 2009, which garnered her the Academy Award for Best Actress.

According to IMDb, "Gravity"’s plot centers around a female astronaut returning to Earth following a mission to fix the Hubble space telescope. Bullock is taking over the part that was supposed to go to Angelina Jolie.

Shooting is expected to take place in the spring after Clooney wraps up directing his upcoming film "Ides of March," says UsMagazine.com. Clooney is stepping in for Robert Downey Jr., who dropped out of the project.

Bullock was married to Jesse James for seven years before splitting up this year due to James’ cheating scandal. This past August, her adoption of baby son Louis was finalized in New Orleans.
