Netflix Casting Call Looking for Extras

"House of Cards" begins shooting in April

You could be the next internet video sensation. Central Casting will be holding open auditions for a new Netflix series this Saturday at Stevenson University in Maryland.

“House of Cards” will begin shooting in Baltimore and D.C. this April, and the casting company is looking for union and non-union extras.

According to a blog on Netflix’s website, the show is a “much-anticipated television series and political thriller from Executive Producer David Fincher and starring Kevin Spacey.”

Fincher is known for directing the recent box office hit, “The Social Network.”

The New York Times reported this week that Netflix is trying to re-invent itself by competing against channels like HBO with its own original content.

The casting company said it will be looking for both extras and recurring or featured roles in the series, according to its press release.

The company is looking for Hill staffers, aides, reporters, politicians, lobbyists and “elegant Washington types” of various ages.

The open call will be held this Saturday, March 24, at the Stevenson University Inscape Theater from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The theater is located at 1525 Greenspring Valley Road in Stevenson, Md.

Business attire is required for the casting call.
