Clooney ‘Wasn't That Experienced' in Bedroom Scenes: Costar

Don't let that silver hair fool you - this old dog still has some new tricks to learn.

When it came time to shoot bedroom scenes in the new film the American," Violante Placido told People magazine that mature lead man George Clooney seemed to be in unfamiliar territory.

"I felt like this was in a way something new to him, he wasn't experienced," Placido told People.  "He confessed that he didn't do a lot of sex scenes."

Placido, who has appeared in various stages of undress for various Italian magazines, including GQ and Playboy, played a prostitute in the film and Clooney's steaming love interest.  She said despite his relative innocence, the two managed to make the sparks fly on screen.

"It had to look real; it is a turning point for the two characters," Placido said.  "We had to find a way to make it natural and let your body speak somehow."

Clooney, in real life a year shy of his 50th birthday, played an aging hit man trying to survive one last assignment before retirement.  "The American" hits the big screens on September 1.
