Bill Murray Makes Lucky Fan's Dream Come True at Game 6

“He turns around and says, ‘here, here’s a ticket,’” she told MLB.com. “And he kind of shuttled me into the door. I thought it was just a ticket to get in. But it was a ticket to sit right here.”

For a fan, it’s a dream scenario: You travel to a ballpark hoping to get into a World Series game involving the Chicago Cubs, and you get handed a ticket by a complete stranger that allows you to witness an historic moment.

For lifelong Cubs fan Karen Michel, that dream not only became a reality on Tuesday night during Game 6 of the World Series, but the random fan that gave her the ticket just so happened to be legendary comedian Bill Murray, according to MLB.com.

Murray, who is also a diehard Cubs fan and has been a ubiquitous presence at games during the postseason, happened to have an extra ticket to Tuesday’s game in Cleveland. When Michel struck out while searching for a ticket at the box office, she ended up being the lucky recipient of a seat next to the actor.

“He turns around and says, ‘here, here’s a ticket,’” she told MLB.com. “And he kind of shuttled me into the door. I thought it was just a ticket to get in. But it was a ticket to sit right here.”

When asked what she and Murray talked about during the game, Michel said that they mostly talked about family and growing up going to games at Wrigley Field.

“I asked, ‘When you went to the Cubs game, who did you go with?’” she told the site. “He said his brother and his father. I have all sisters, and me and my dad would go to the baseball games. We talked about stuff like that.”

Murray is known for doing some pretty cool stuff, including crashing weddings and White House press conferences, but giving a random fan a dream experience at a World Series game ranks pretty highly in the pantheon of fan interactions for the star.
