Usher's Son Released From Hospital After Near Drowning

Usher and his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, are no doubt breathing a sigh of relief.

The former couple's son, Usher Raymond V, has finally been released from the hospital, nearly a week after the 5-year-old almost drowned in a pool.

The good news comes just days after an Atlanta judge dismissed Foster's emergency custody motion, meaning Usher will continue to have primary custody of both Usher Raymond V and 3-year-old son Naviyd.

Foster had filed for an emergency custody hearing early last week after the Aug. 5 incident in which Usher Raymond V's arm got stuck in a pool drain while he was trying to retrieve a toy. His aunt and a housekeeper unsuccessfully tried to free him.

Two male contractors working inside the house then rushed to the pool and were able to free the boy. One of them performed CPR, reviving the boy before medical responders arrived at Usher's home.

Soon after, the singer addressed the situation in a statement, saying, "I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering...I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them."
