Robert Downey Jr. Says There's “No Plan” for an Iron Man 4

We all want to see Robert Downey Jr. back in superhero attire, but... it's not looking good.

Because? Variety recently asked Tony Stark himself about the possibility of a fourth "Iron Man" movie, and he shot that prospect down pretty quickly. "There isn't one in the pipe," he said. "No, there's no plan for a fourth 'Iron Man.'"

Not to worry, though. The 49-year-old actor signed with Marvel and Disney for two "Avengers" sequels, hitting theaters in 2015 and 2018, so there's still some Stark on the horizon.

After that, though, would Downey "let" anyone else play his iconic superhero character? "I like that the idea is that it would be up to me," he said to Variety, "like I'm casting director for Marvel."

RDJ did, however, joke about the possibility of turning his new drama "The Judge," which he's currently promoting in Toronto, into more films. "Maybe it'll be a trilogy, like that other series he [co-star Robert Duvall] was in," he joked. "I heard two of those were good."

Hey, now, was that some shade at "The Godfather: Part III?" You be the judge of that, and keep those fingers crossed that somebody makes Downey an offer he can't refuse to keep on playing Stark!
