Actor Taye Diggs Tackles Home Intruder After Returning From SAG Awards

The "Private Practice" star chased the man and detained him until officers arrived, according to the LAPD.

Actor Taye Diggs chased down and detained an intruder after returning home from the Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday night in Los Angeles.

The "Private Practice" star returned home at about 11 p.m. Sunday to find the man in his Studio City home, Los Angeles Police Department officials confirmed Monday morning. The story was first reported by TMZ.com.

The subject ran, but Diggs chased the man and tackled him, detaining the intruder until police arrived, according to the LAPD.

It was not immediately clear how the man accessed Diggs' home or whether the actor was injured.

Diggs' encounter with a home invader comes about five months after rapper-actor LL Cool J confronted an intruder in his Studio City home. The intruder, who was charged with first-degree burglary, was hospitalized with a broken nose, jaw and ribs after the encounter with the "NCIS: Los Angeles" actor.
