Mindy MCCready Committed to Treatment Facility

Country singer's father filed the petition that resulted in his daughter being ordered to a facility for evaluation.

What upset Mindy McCready's father so much that he had his daughter committed to a treatment facility?

E! News has exclusively obtained the petition filed yesterday by Tim McCready that resulted in the singer being ordered away for up to three weeks to undergo mental-health and substance-abuse evaluations.

"Since boyfriend (David Wilson) shot himself she has been in bed for 3 wks," wrote the elder McCready. "Sleeps all day. Drinks all night and is taking Rx drugs. Not bathing or even helping take care of her 2 children."

David Wilson arrested three weeks before his death, jailed on Christmas Eve

McCready's sons, 6-year-old Zander and 9-month-old Zayne, had been removed from her care by the Department of Human Services earlier in the day.

"Screams about everything," wrote a DHS attorney in an additional summary explaining why Tim McCready was pleading with the court to take action. "Trying to hit father. Is not making any sense of an conversations with anyone. Very verbally abusive to Zander (6) son."

In agreeing to McCready's "involuntary admission" to the Cleburne County Behavioral Health Center, the judge wrote that "there is cause to find there is clear and convincing evidence that Respondent is in imminent danger of harm to herself or others, suicidal or gravely disabled."

Investigation into David Wilson's death is ongoing

Yesterday's court filing also notes that McCready previously received treatment at Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute in Nashville.

Tim McCready's move came a week after his former son-in-law, Billy McKnight, filed several motions in family court expressing concern over McCready's fitness to take care of her children and requesting full custody of their son together, 6-year-old Zander.

According to court documents obtained by E! News, McKnight requested a criminal-records check on his ex and anyone she has caring for their son; that she be required to submit to drug and alcohol testing; and that she be ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation and present their son for evaluation, as well.

"McKnight believes that the mental and physical stability and condition of McCready is in controversy," his attorney, William Z. White, stated in the filing.

Furthermore, he requested in the filing that a licensed social worker be made to observe McCready's home environment and interaction with Zander, and, if he regains full custody "to develop his relationship" with his son, McKnight wants his ex to pay child support.

"McCready's fiance recently, tragically and allegedly committed suicide upon the premises where McCready and Z.M resided," White states. "Based upon McKnight's knowledge of McCready's previous emotional and psychological health, McKnight has grave concerns for the welfare and safety of Z.M. while in McCready's sole and unsupervised care so soon after the death of her fiance."

"To date," the lawyer's filing continued, "McCready has refused to allow any of McKnight's family to visit with Z.M. since her unlawful removal of Z.M. from Florida to Arkansas on or about November 30, 2011. "McCready has concealed Z.M.'s condition and whereabouts from McKnight since the alleged suicide of her fianc while upon the premises and possibly in the presence of Z.M."

McKnight is concerned that "McCready may be allowing persons of questionable reputation and character to be around" their son, the filing concluded.
