Justin Bieber Investigated in Alleged Robbery Attempt in LA

Justin Bieber has not been arrested nor questioned in connection with the accusations

Singer Justin Bieber is being investigated in connection with an alleged attempted robbery that took place at a Los Angeles amusement park Monday night, authorities said.

A woman told police Tuesday that the incident took place about 10:30 p.m. at Sherman Oaks Castle Park, which houses a miniature golf course, an arcade and batting cages, NBC News confirmed. She was interviewed at the Los Angeles Police Department Devonshire Division station in Northridge.

Bieber is accused of digging into the woman's purse and grabbing her cellphone to see whether she had taken pictures of him with it, the LAPD told NBC4.

The woman had been at the amusement park with her teen daughter.

The Canadian-born pop star has not been arrested nor questioned in connection with the accusations, sources said.

Bieber reportedly traveled to Oklahoma City Tuesday to watch the Los Angeles Clippers take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 5 of the NBA playoffs Western Conference semifinal series.

On Monday, a video posted on Bieber’s Instagram account showed him putting at a mini golf course.

The LAPD's elite Robbery-Homicide detectives, who handle celebrity and high-profile cases, have taken over the investigation.

The Sherman Oaks incident is the latest in a series of troubles involving Bieber, including charges of driving under the influence in Miami, egging a neighbor's house and attacking a celebrity photographer.

NBC4's Patrick Healy and Adrian Arambulo contributed to this report.
