'I Don't Like Giving Negativity Power': Oprah Responds to Trump's Twitter Slam

Trump called Winfrey "very insecure" with "facts incorrect" during her recent "60 Minutes" interview about his presidency

Oprah Winfrey and her "A Wrinkle in Time" co-star Reese Witherspoon joined Ellen DeGeneres for Thursday's show, where the media mogul responded to President Donald Trump's recent "hate tweet."

Trump called Winfrey "very insecure" with "facts incorrect" during her recent "60 Minutes" interview about his presidency.

"I don’t like giving negativity power," Winfrey said. "What I actually really did was I went back and looked at the tape to see if there was any place that that could be true -- did I feel like it was slanted or biased. I went back and looked at every tape, I called the producers."

Winfrey said several editors critiqued the piece before it aired for fairness and objectivity. After watching the edited version, she asked for adjustmets to be made to the dialogue to include both major political parties, not just the Democrats. She said she was satisfied with the final result.

"I was working very hard to do the opposite of what I was hate-tweeted about," Winfrey said.
