Willow Smith Talks TV Role, Dad's Advice

Audiences might be more accustomed to seeing her father, Will Smith, on the big screen, but Willow Smith is paving her own way in Hollywood.

The 8-year-old, who appeared alongside Abigail Breslin in 2008's "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl" and her father in 2007's "I Am Legend," is making her television debut in Nickelodeon's "True Jackson VP" on July 25.

"I like TV because they laugh and then I laugh and then I do it again," Willow explained of the filming process when Access Hollywood visited the set. "It's a big happy family."

Willow will play a younger version of the show's star, True, who is played by Keke Palmer.

Though acting is in her genes, Willow said her dad has tried to give her a few tips.

"He's giving me advice like ' Willow, stay in the moment! You have this, you got it down. Just stay in the moment. OK, now go out there and kill it,'" she laughs, imitating her dad's voice.

Even though her part only lasts for the one episode, Willow has caught the television bug and wants to come back for more.

"I really want to do this again because it's really, really easy to work and have fun at the same time," she said.
