Uchitel: Gonna Have to Face It, I'm Addicted to Love

Rachel Uchitel landed in rehab because she was lovesick, literally.

The sultry former mistress of "Bones" actor David Boreanaz, who was also linked to Tiger Woods, told Radaronline she is addicted to getting shot by Cupid's arrow. And she insists that it is a legitimate malady that affects lots of people.

"It is the most common addiction in the world, yet it is also the addiction most commonly pushed under the rug because people don't believe it exists," Uchitel told the gossip site.

Uchitel, 35, lost her fiance in the 9/11 attacks. That gave her a bad case of heart disease, eventually landing her in reality TV treatment on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew." Prior to that, rumors of her being one of Tiger Woods' many gal pals and the affair with Boreanaz had many people passing judgment on her, she said.

"People think it is a moral issue if somebody falls in love, all over the place," Uchitel said. "It is not, it is a disease and disorder; it is where you feel like you have a hole in your heart and you are waiting for a knight in shining armor to come and save you."

Out of rehab, Uchitel is bent on spreading the word that falling in love can be a bad thing.

"A lot of people struggle this whether they know it or not," she said. "I was out to dinner with some interesting people, who are celebrities in their own right, who are going through divorces or are divorced."

"I can't tell you how many books I have given to people, gone and purchased them, that Dr. Drew gave us in rehab because now, I get it and I see it in people.

The new season of "Celebrity Rehab" premieres Wednesday at 10 p.m. on VH1. Joining Uchitel on the show are actor Eric Roberts, "The Hills" star Jason Wahler, original supermodel Janice Dickinson, 1970s teen heartthrob Leif Garrett, troubled actor Jeremy London, socialite Jason Davis and Keyshia Cole’s mother Frankie Lons.

Earlier this year, London denied reports that he and Uchitel got romantic during the taping of the reality show.
