Ryan O'Neal: More ‘Farrah's Story' In The Works

Farrah Fawcett's longtime companion, Ryan O'Neal, said there will be a follow-up to "Farrah's Story," the documentary about the TV icon's battle with cancer that drew in almost 9 million viewers when it aired on May 15 on NBC.

O'Neal announced the news during a call on NBC's the "Today" show Monday morning.

"We haven't stopped filming and we're going to make a second installment of her life eventually," O'Neal told Meredith Vieira via telephone from his home in LA.

Though Fawcett was too ill to attend the movie's premiere last week, she watched the Friday night debut from home with O'Neal and close friend Alana Stewart, who is also a producer on the film.

"When we began watching it Friday night, she had [a] very low pulse," O'Neal told Vieira. But as the film continued, O'Neal said her pulse got stronger until it was back to normal.

"It kept going up and up and up," he explained. "It was wonderful… We're going to have to show her one of her films every night."

Stewart said Fawcett became emotional while watching the doc, but enjoyed it.

"She cried a few times. It was quite emotional for her," Stewart said.

After the documentary ended, Stewart said she asked Fawcett what she thought about the film.

"'I liked it very, very, very, very, very much,'" Stewart said Fawcett told her.

O'Neal explained that when he told her, "We did real good last night," that Fawcett was still thinking like an actress, asking,"'What were the numbers?'"

"It made me laugh that she still had those terms in her head," O'Neal said.

The debut of "Farrah's Story" on NBC drew an estimated 8.9 million viewers.
