Jennifer Hudson Lines Up First Performance Since Family Tragedy

Jennifer Hudson has lined up her first live performance since her mother, brother and nephew were murdered in October.

The Oscar winner, who released her self-titled debut album earlier this year, will take part in the MusiCares Person of the Year event in Los Angeles on February 6, 2009, with the event honoring Neil Diamond.

Jennifer, who is expected to perform a Neil Diamond song at the event, won’t be the only singing star in attendance. Tim McGraw, British soul singer (and Grammy nominee) Adele, Coldplay, Josh Groban and Foo Fighters will also honor Neil at the banquet.

The performance will mark the first time Jennifer has sung at a public event since the tragic murder of her mother, Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason Hudson, and her nephew, Julian King, two months ago.
