“DWTS” Star Hines Ward Arrested for DUI

Pittsburgh Steelers star and "Dancing with the Stars" champ Hines Ward was arrested Saturday morning on drunk driving charges in the Atlanta area.

DeKalb County police said they stopped the 35-year-old wide receiver at about 2:30 a.m. after they saw his Aston Martin weave and hit a curb, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

They said he failed a field sobriety test, refused a breathalyzer and said he had been at a club where he had consumed two drinks. He cooperated with the cops, and his sober passenger drove his car home, according to reports.

Ward, who was named winner of the hit dance show in May and Most Valuable Player of the Super Bowl five years ago, was booked with a DUI. He was later let out on $1,000 bond.

The Korean-born, Atlanta-raised Ward is no stranger to brushes with the law while driving. In 2006, he faced speeding and reckless driving charges—the first of which he paid for with a hefty fine and the second of which was dropped according to police records.

Back in May, Ward charmed "Dancing with the Stars" fans with his technique, affability and supportiveness of his partner Kym Johnson, then recovering from an injury.
