Meet Future Science Innovators at Robotic Saturdays in Hampton

There are future NASA engineers all over the United States, we're sure of it, but finding them is the tricky part. A trip to the Virginia Air and Space Museum's Robotics Saturdays may be your best bet at finding these future innovators as they show off their engineering masterpieces.

Every Saturday (except Dec. 28) throughout December, the Virginia Air and Space Museum (600 Settlers Landing Road, Hampton, Va.) is bringing together some of the most creative and innovative teams of high schoolers to showcase the robotics they engineered. The students will perform interactive demonstrations with their newly made inventions while you get to experience the thrill along with other live science demos, including a robot workshop ($10) where you can build your own robot.

The student demos vary each week as different teams perform on any given Saturday. Hours for robotic Saturdays are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday through Dec. 21.

Also inside the Virginia Air and Space Museum, you'll find some of most compelling and innovative pieces of engineering of their time. Included are air and space crafts like the Apollo 12 command module and the Mercury 14 Spacecraft. The museum also has an IMAX theater and space camps available throughout the year.

The Virginia Air and Space Museum is about three hours south of downtown D.C.
