Water-Skiing Santa at National Harbor

OK, it's not necessarily the area's most heart-warming annual holiday event, but it is the most bizarrely whimsical, so you gotta give them credit.

Water-skiing Santa, his knee-boarding reindeer and flying elves (plus Frosty in a dinghy) take to the water at National Harbor on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 1 p.m.

While the spectacle always occurs on Christmas Eve, this is an especially good year to go since it falls on a weekend -- at least as long as that jet-skiing Grinch doesn't steal Christmas, or the Harbor. Stick around after the show for a chance to meet a likely-shivering-by-that-point Santa.

National Harbor (167 Waterfront St., National Harbor, Md.) is about 10 miles south of D.C. The event is free.
