Music and Arts at the 5th Annual Rooster Walk Festival

Get artsy and musical this Memorial Day weekend with a trip to the always funky Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival, which promises to be a memorable three-day musical blitz.

May 24-26, celebrate Memorial Day engrossed in music, arts, crafts and camping at the three-day Rooster Festival. The festival brings together more than three dozen of the best underground folk and funk bands from around the region and beyond. Featuring artists like Leftover Salmon, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, Yarn and Space Capone, you're unlikely to wander far from the stage all weekend.

If you do stray from the stage, it'll most likely be to attend the musical workshops or many kids activities happening througout the weekend.

Along with the camping gear we recommend you take, you may want to take your sneakers, too, for the 5K Tuff Strutter Sunday at 9 a.m. Or just book a hotel and suntan near the river all weekend. No pressure.

General admission tickets are $125 for the entire weekend and are currently only on sale at the gate. Camping is $30 per vehicle.

The fest is located at 1920 Coopers Mountain Road, Martinsville, Va., about four hours south of downtown D.C.
