The Maryland Irish Festival returns to the Maryland State Fairground (2200 York Road, Timonium, Md.) for three days of festivities, including traditional cuisine, workshops and demos, vendors of Irish goods, kids' activities, and -- of course -- plenty of music and dance performances.
Go early for happy hour Friday evening, with reduced ticket and drink prices until 8 p.m.
The festival runs Friday, Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 11. Bands include The Shamrogues and Crossing Celtic; see the complete schedule here.

General admission is $12; seniors are $8; ages 12-17 are $5, and kids under 12 are free. On Sunday, active military members are free with ID.
Timonium is located about 70 minutes north of downtown D.C.
