Vegas may have Cirque du Soleil, but this summer we have Cirque Italia, a traveling European performance with a stage full (as in, 35,000 gallons full) of water.
This summer, Cirque Italia is headed to Maryland and Pennsylvania (sorry, Virginia) with a vivid aquatic experience and European-style acts. The show's 16 acts include a "cloudswing" act, in which an aerialist hulahoops and performs jaw-dropping stunts high above ground... while wearing a mermaid suit.
Hand balancing, contortionists and a comedy matador are all part of the act as well.
The show is currently at Owings Mill Mall (10300 Mill Run Circle, Owings Mills, Md.), now through July 21. It will run July 26-Aug. 4 at the Neshaminy Mall (707 Neshaminy Mall, Bensalem, Pa.).
Owings Mills is about an hour from downtown D.C.; Bensalem is about three hours away.
Tickets range from $9-$45. One free child ticket is available from each bundle purchase.
