Lighting of the Animals: Inside National Zoo’s Holiday Display

Raise your glass to save wildlife! The Smithsonian’s National Zoo is holding its annual Brew at the Zoo fundraising event July 23.

Seventy different craft craft breweries and food trucks are gathering together to support the annual Friends of the National Zoo beer fest. Local participating breweries include 3 Stars Brewing Company, Adroit Theory, DC Brau, Denizens Brewing Co. and plenty more.

The National Zoo (3001 Connecticut Ave NW) will also host a local band, The Bachelor Boys, plus lawn games and the chance to meet and greet some animals. The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m.

General admission tickets are $65, with a $15 discount available for Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ) members. Early admission tickets, which gets you into the event at 5 p.m., are $85 (or $70 for FONZ members). Sober Ride tickets are available for $30 for non-drinkers and designated drivers.

A VIP package is available for $100 ($85 for FONZ members). VIP admission will grant you access to complimentary food tasting at participating restaurants such as Matchbox, Plan B Burger Bar, Jack Rose Dining Saloon and more.

All attendees must be 21 or older.
