Annapolis Irish Festival Is July 12-13

Irish bands will stir up a (Gaelic) storm at July's Annapolis Irish Festival.

In addition to Gaelic Storm (like you didn't see that coming), you can catch a dozen other bands -- Dublin 5, Albannach, the Gothard Sisters, among others -- across three stages during the festival, which runs July 12-13 at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds.

Kids' entertainment includes a magic show, pony rides, Irish step dance lessons and more.

You'll also find Irish dancers and plenty of food. Think fish and chips, corned beef sausage, and pit beef, plus crab cakes, because hey -- this is still Maryland, after all.

A massive marketplace rounds out the offerings. Shop for jewelry, clothes, bags, home furnishings and more. (See complete list of vendors here.)

The fest runs Friday, July 12 from 4 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, July 13 from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. The Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds is located at 1450 General's Highway in Crownsville, Md., about 35 miles east of downtown D.C. Admission is $20.
