Waterfowl Festival Takes Flight

The 41st annual Waterfowl Festival comes to colonial Easton, Md., Nov. 11-13, raising money for conservation and dishing up plenty of seafood.

More than 300 wildlife artists, craftsmen, vendors and musicicans are scheduled to appear. And the Great Eastern Shore seafood isn't taking a back seat, either -- crabs, oysters and clams will be served.

The festival -- located on the Eastern Shore, about 70 miles east of DC -- features wildlife paintings, carvings, photos and sculptures, and opps for fly fishing. Kiddos can check out live animals and nature displays.

Canines get into the act, too -- catch retriever dog demos and Dockdogs, where dogs compete on long jumps into a pool.

Four world-class calling contests include the World Championship Goose Calling Contest, with a $10,000 first prize.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit wildlife conservation; with more than $5 million donated to date.

Hours: Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Admission: $10 for all three days; kids younger than 12 are free.
