Ryan Reynolds Is All-In for Comic Adaptation Bonanza

After having already been cast as Deadpool and Green Lantern, Ryan Reynolds is now set to star in another comic book adaptation, this one about a couple of dead cops patrolling the afterlife.

Reynolds is going to star in "RIPD" (Rest In Peace Department) as a young cop who is murdered in the line of duty and agrees to join God's police force in return for a chance to catch his killer, producer Neal Moritz told Collider.

"It’s terrific based on the graphic novel. It’s about two cops, one recently dead and a gunslinger who’s been dead for hundreds of years who work on the Rest in Peace department - which is the police department of the dead, said Moritz. "And they basically…it takes place on a normal day and it’s about trying to keep the dead quiet."

Mortiz said that shooting should start in January, shortly after Reynolds finishes "The Change Up," his body-swap comedy co-starring Jason Bateman.

Reynolds has positioned himself for a huge breakout with his performances in both "Adventureland" and "Buried," as well as the success of "The Proposal." He's got a certain glib, if at times grating, charm and the ladies say he's easy on the eyes, let's hope he doesn't blow his moment.
