No Wonder Woman? Will You Accept Lady Jaye as a Consolation Prize?

We haven't exactly been coy about our desire for someone - anyone - to pick up David E. Kelley's "Wonder Woman" series so that we could see Adrianne Palicki kicking ass in her Amazonian finest.

Sigh.

But, hey - at least Adrianne's keeping busy. It's just been announced that the "Friday Night Lights" star will be joining Jon Chu's "G.I. Joe" sequel, playing the character of covert operative Lady Jaye.

Palicki joins brand new "Joes" Dwayne Johnson (he'll be playing Roadblock, much to the chagrin of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who was pretty certain he was Roadblock in the first movie), rapper-producer RZA (playing Snakes Eyes' mentor Blind Master), Elodie Yung (Jinx), and D.J. Cotrona (Flint).

So far, it looks like only Channing Tatum (Duke). Ray Park (Snake Eyes) and Byung-hun Lee (Storm Shadow) will be returning from the first one. But didn't Storm Shadow die, you ask? Yes. Yes he did. Maybe.

We'll really miss Rachel Nichols as Scarlett - not because she was really all that good, but just because it's looking like they will just be rotating out "a girl character" in each subsequent movie rather than dare to have too much estrogen messing up the Joe locker rooms.

But now you know who's playing Lady Jaye. And knowing is half the battle.
