Stan Lee All A-Twitter Over Ant Man, Dr. Strange and Black Panther

Marvel Comics god Stan Lee gave his thumbs a vigorous workout yesterday trumpeting all sorts of tidbits about movies in the pipeline

"To make up for my previous grievous error, here's a little item that may have escaped you. Marvel is prepping a movie starring-- Ant Man!," read one tweet, which was quickly followed by two more bits of news.

"I had lunch with the cool, young director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) and, as you'd imagine, we had fun discussing the tiny hero," and "Ant Man is just one of the many wild treats Marvel has planned for you, such as Iron Fist, Dr. Strange, Black Panther and more, more, more!"

"Sometimes you shouldn't meet your heroes in case they disappoint. @smilinstanlee does not disappoint," read a tweet on Wright's feed at around the same time.

Wright is great choice to write and direct "Ant-Man" -- which could easily devolve into "Honey I Shrunk the Super Hero." He has already been working on a script when his attention was diverted to "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," the hotly anticipated comic book adaptation starring Michael Cera which is due Aug. 13.

Wright's work with Simon Pegg on "Shaun of the Dead," "Hot Fuzz" and the British series "Spaced" has shown a talent for action and a gift for the absurd that a miniature hero would require.

In other Marvel news, it's been announced that Lee's Pow Entertainment and A Squared Entertainment will develop "Super Seven," a print comic and TV sereis about a group of alien superheroes who are befriend by Lee.

"Although I've briefly appeared in other comics, 'Super Seven' is the first time that I'll actually be a continuing character in a far-out, original superhero series," Lee told Variety.

Not all that long ago, Lee was feeling burned by the whole Marvel-to-movies money machine, feelings as though a bunch of nerds-come-lately had been enjoying massive paydays on his hard work. Now the guy can't get enough of Hollywood.
