SATURDAY, JUNE 4

  • Glen Echo Park (7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo, Md.) will be filled with musicians, dancers and artists this weekend as the 31st annual Washington Folk Festival takes place. This free festival will include a variety of cultures and performances ranging from all ages. 11 a.m.; free admission.
  • One treat for me, one treat for you... Bring your dapper dog to the Washington Hilton (1919 Connecticut Ave. N.W.) for the Bark Ball to benefit the Washington Humane Society. Go for dinner, silent auctions, dancing... and a doggie bar? Yes indeed. 6:30 p.m.; $250.
  • Feeling like a mini-road trip? Caribbean superstar Rihanna brings her Loud tour to the First Mariner Arena (201 W. Baltimore St., Baltimore). The worldwide tour also features Cee Lo Green. 7:30 p.m.; $29 and up.
  • Where else can you go to try 300+ wines from the Commonwealth? Taste away at the 30th annual Vintage Virginia in Bull Run Park (7700 Bull Run Drive, Centreville, Va.). The two-day event also includes live music. Campsites are in walking distance if no one steps up to serve as D.D. Sat. 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun. 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; $24 and up.
  • The Dubsplash pool parties at Capitol Skyline Pool (10 I St. S.W.) feature hot local DJs and swanky cocktails. Sat. and Sun. 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

SUNDAY, JUNE 5

  • Trendy fashion, unusual food and... sword swallowers? Yep. Marcātus, a creative arts market at the Yards Park (10 Water St. S.E.), provides all of this artsy entertainment and more. Take a leisurely stroll past vendors and tents to find what strikes you. Food trucks will be waiting, too. See the complete live music schedule here. 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; free admission.
  • Where y’at this Sunday? The annual Louisiana Swamp Romp at Wolf Trap (1645 Trap Road, Vienna, Va.) brings N’awjunelins music and food to the Commonwealth. Hear music from Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Sonny Landreth and more. 2 p.m.; $25.
  • This Will Destroy You takes the stage at Rock and Roll Hotel (1353 H St., N.E.) on the strength of their new album, “Tunnel Blanket,” which dropped in May. Nighty Nite and John LaMonica also perform. 8 p.m., $12-$14.
  • Catch the Onoe School of Dance during a Dance for Japan Relief event at at George Mason University’s Harris Theater (4400 University Drive, Fairfax, Va.). Proceeds from the event, which includes a raffle and silent auction, will benefit the Japanese Red Cross Society. 1 p.m.; $40 general admission; $25 students.
