TUESDAY, NOV. 1:

  • When rap royalty puts out a collaborative record, you listen -- especially when it's Jay-Z and Kanye West. The rappers perform at 1st Mariner Arena (201 West Baltimore St., Baltimore) for their Watch the Throne tour. 7:30 p.m.; $22 and up.
  • The best talents from past Capital Fringe festivals take the stage in performances running through Nov. 20. The live performing arts event features 12 groups in acts ranging from comedy to rock to quirky, quirky plays. The nonprofit Capital Fringe Festival supports the performing arts and creates opportunities for artists in the District. See complete schedule here.
  • Famed comedian Carlos Mencia performs at DC Improv (1140 Connecticut Ave. NW). The show, featuring the former star of Comedy Central's "Mind of Mencia," includes a special dinner. 8:30 p.m. sold out; 10:30 p.m. still available; $35.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 2:

  • Take a stand against domestic violence with food, fashion and fun. Becky's Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness on domestic violence, hosts its Walk This Way fashion show at Andrew Mellon Auditorium (1301 Constitution, Ave. NW). Featuring top athletes of the Redskins, D.C. United and Capitals teams, all funds go towards promoting the prevention of domestic and dating violence in the area. 6:30-10 p.m.; $125.
  • Riot Act Comedy Theater (801 E St. NW) brings it monthly fix of gay and gay-friendly fun with its Gaylarious show, for a night of bigger and better laughs. 8:30 doors; $15.
  • And I'm Not Lying features a night of storytelling, comedy and burlesque from "The Moth" and "This American Life" at the Black Cat (1811 14th St. NW). 8 p.m.; $12.

THURSDAY, NOV. 3:

  • Calling all the ladies in the DMV area. Join Co Co. Sala (929 F St. N.W.) for a special ladies-only Chocolate & Bubbles Happy Hour, featuring deals on signature sips including the Co Cojito, made with chocolate-infused vodka. And don't worry, guys -- you can join your favorite females later for a special after-party at Buddha Bar (455 Massachusetts Ave. N.W.). 4-7 p.m.; free admission.

  • Join the Songwriters Association of Washington for their Soul and R&B Songwriter Showcase at Blues Alley (1073 Wisconsin Ave. NW), featuring local singer/songwriter Kriss Mincey. Enjoy a night of live music and a candlelit dinner at the legendary jazz club. 10 p.m.; $20.
  • Politics and Prose (5015 Connecticut Ave. NW) hosts NBC journalist Tom Brokaw for his new book, "The Time of Our Lives: A Conversation About America: Who We Are, Where We've Been, and Where We Need to Go Now, to Recapture the American Dream." 7 p.m.; free.

FRIDAY, NOV. 4:

  • Kick off FotoWeek DC at with a launch party held at FotoWeek Central (1800 L St. NW) at 5 p.m. and moving to the Corcoran Gallery (500 17th St. NW) at 8:30 p.m. Enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at both venues while enjoying tunes spun by FatBack DJs. Tickets $55.
  • Mingle at the Museum: Portraits After 5 at the National Portrait Gallery (8th St. & F St. NW) offers up event-themed hors d'oeuvres and, obviously, plenty of portraits. 7:30 p.m.-10 p.m.; $20-$25.
  • Throughout NFL season, Radius Pizza (3155 Mt. Pleasant St. NW) dshes up any draft and a slice of cheese pizza for just $5 at the bar. Daily; 5-7 p.m.
