Bianca Grimaldi Welcomes Writer's Block for One Night

Washington Writing Group president Bianca Grimaldi celebrated the first anniversary of the organization with a sweet soiree at CoCo Sala last night.

Clients and supporters of the grant-writing firm got a taste of Grimaldi's talents - both in script and culinary selection.

"After a decade working in public health services, I fell into grant writing," Grimaldi said Tuesday night. " I love the idea of contributing to the public welfare, and we've grown so much in our first year!"

Her aptitude for writing grant proposals -- she's managed asks from $10,000 to $30 million -- is apparently matched by a love for food.

"My favorite reality show is 'Top Chef,'" she said, taking a bite of the goat cheese and beet lollipop she chose for the evening's menu.  "I would want to be Padma Lakshmi on that show so that I could say whatever I wanted."

Grimaldi is rarely at a loss for words, however. To make light of the expression, she named the night's specialty cocktail, "the writer's block."
