Celebrate the Holiday Weekend With Del

Bluegrass fans will find heaven in Cumberland this weekend.

The Allegany County Fairgrounds is hosting DelFest, a three-day bluegrass music festival named for and headlined by the bluegrass legend Del McCoury. His band will play all three days of the festival -- Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The fairgrounds have on-site camping, so you don't even have to go home until the music stops Sunday night.

Camping, banjos and no indoor plumbing? Yes, this will attract hippies like porch lights attract moths, but it's a pretty good lineup and nobody's forcing you to stay overnight.

Railroad Earth, The Infamous Stringdusters, Steep Canyon Rangers, The Davisson Brothers Band, and Dan Paisley and Southern Grass join Del Friday.

Saturday's got the best lineup, though, with Leftover Salmon, Old Crow Medicine Show and Sam Bush performing. Sunday features Dark Star Orchestra, forever trying to keep the Dead alive, so don't be shy about leaving early to beat the traffic. But not before you check out Tim O'Brien's set.
