Rep. Delegate Bob Marshall Joins Race for U.S. Senate

Narrowly lost party nomination in 2008

George Allen will face a new challenger from inside the Republican party.  Del. Bob Marshall, of Prince William County, has thrown his hat in the race for Virginia's U.S. Senate seat.

Marshall has represented Virginia's 13th District since 1991.  He's on the record as a staunch social conservative, and nearly won his party's nomination to run for Senate in 2008.

Also in the Republican field, Tea party organizer Jamie Radtke, E.W. Jackson and David W. McCormick.  Cable television entrepeneur bowed out of the race at the end of December.

The Hill reports that Marshall has already signed up for three debates.
