Federal Government to Sell Harry Thomas Jr.'s Vehicles

The federal government has taken possession of two vehicles once owned by former D.C. Council member Harry Thomas Jr. and is preparing to sell them.

Thomas is serving a 3-year prison sentence for embezzling more than $350,000 from the District of Columbia. He admitted that he used some of the illicit funds to purchase a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Victory motorcycle.

According to a court filing last week, those vehicles have now been forfeited to the United States. Ally Financial Inc. is still owed money on the Tahoe and will receive proceeds from the sale of that vehicle.

The filing was first reported by The Washington Examiner. It does not specify when the vehicles will be sold.
